The MiG 17 was reported shot down by missile fire from the USS Sterett (DDG-31). USS Lloyd Thomas (DD-764) and the USS Sterett are thought to have sunk two NVN torpedo boats. Oklahoma City received slight damage to an antenna from shore battery fire during the engagement.
